The latest PLC control system for automatic elevators plays a crucial role in the vertical transportation of modern buildings. As an essential part of daily life, automatic elevators operate based on external call signals and their own control algorithms. The call signals are random, making the elevator system a human-machine interactive control system. Traditional sequential or logic control methods alone are insufficient to meet the requirements of elevator control. Therefore, this paper introduces programmable logic controllers (PLC) to replace computers for signal selection and control in elevator systems. PLCs are renowned for their high reliability, convenient program design, flexibility, strong anti-interference capabilities, stable operation, and high reliability. That's why PLCs are widely used in modern elevator control systems. In the PLC-based automatic elevator control system, high reliability, low failure rate, and easy maintenance are among the significant advantages. This system design utilizes a Mitsubishi PLC (FX-1s) as the control device for the automatic elevator model. Experimental results demonstrate that the system can intuitively describe the structure of an automatic elevator, integrating mechanical transmission with electrical control efficiently to showcase the elevator's functionality comprehensively. By modifying the PLC control program, various operational and control modes of the elevator can be implemented on this model. It can serve not only as an experimental device but also as a simulation platform for elevator research. In conclusion, the PLC-based control system for automatic elevators offers numerous advantages, making it an indispensable component of modern vertical transportation systems. The integration of PLC technology enhances the reliability, efficiency, and functionality of elevator control, providing a robust foundation for future advancements in elevator technology.
