Graduate Research Assistant March 2009 – Present
– Focus on the design and implementation of offline as well as practical online anomaly detection techniques
for sensor networks, sensor data stream analysis, and fault modeling. This research effort heavily exploits
machine learning techniques (e.g., decision trees, support vector machines, boosting) to improve the detection
accuracy
– Achievements:
∗ Studied and analyzed the behavior of real-world sensor data streams to identify anomalies
∗ Designed and implemented time-series data models that are highly representative of real-world sensor
data streams. Some of these models use numerical methods (e.g., non-linear regression, interpolation)
to mimic highly approximate behaviors
