Firstly, the background and significance of frequency meters are outlined. Then, the basic principles and applications of CPLD and MCU are introduced. Next, the hardware and software design processes of the equal precision frequency meter are described in detail. The hardware design includes the design of clock circuit, counter, input/output interface, etc., while the software design involves programming and algorithm implementation. Finally, the performance of the designed equal precision frequency meter is verified through experiments and compared with existing frequency meters. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed frequency meter exhibits high accuracy, good stability, and wide measurement range, meeting the requirements of practical applications.
