Abstract: This paper introduces the working principle of asynchronous motors and the speed control methods of asynchronous motors. The frequency, voltage and pole number can be changed to change the speed of the motor. The principle of the inverter and the pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter are also introduced. The open-loop and closed-loop simulation of the asynchronous motor speed regulation is carried out by using Matlab/simulink system. The torque and speed of the motor are observed in the open-loop system, and the closed-loop system is designed and simulated to achieve speed regulation. The images of the motor speed and torque change are observed, and the reasons for the change of the asynchronous motor speed and the conditions of the simulation process are analyzed.
