In engineering practice, measuring rotational speed is a common requirement. With the widespread adoption of microcomputers, especially the emergence of high-performance and cost-effective single-chip microcontrollers, digital measurement methods based on single-chip microcontrollers have become widely used for speed measurement. This paper presents a design of a digital speed measurement system based on the SPCE061A single-chip microcontroller. The system is designed to monitor the rotation speed of an electric motor during operation, enabling the user to understand the basic conditions of the motor operation. The design uses the SPCE061A as the control core, along with a Hall sensor, LED digital display tube, HIN232CPE level converter, and SPGT62C19B motor control module. The system utilizes serial communication to transmit speed data efficiently, taking full advantage of the capabilities of the single-chip microcontroller. The main focus of the design is to measure speed and display it on a 4-digit LED display. The system offers advantages such as a simple hardware circuit, comprehensive software functionality, fast speed measurement, high accuracy, reliable control system, and cost-effectiveness. In conclusion, this project demonstrates the successful implementation of a digital speed measurement system based on a single-chip microcontroller. With its simple hardware design, high-speed measurement capabilities, and reliable performance, the system is a cost-effective solution for monitoring and controlling the speed of electric motors in various engineering applications.
