RRC instances

RRC (Radio Resource Control) instances are used in cellular networks to manage the radio resources allocated to a particular UE (User Equipment). Each RRC instance represents a logical connection between the UE and the network, and it is responsible for managing the radio resources allocated to the UE for a specific service or application.

For example, if a UE is using voice services, it will have one RRC instance for voice communication. If the same UE is also using data services, it will have another RRC instance for data communication. Each RRC instance is associated with a specific QoS (Quality of Service) level, which determines the priority of the traffic associated with that RRC instance.

RRC instances are important because they help to optimize the use of radio resources in the network. By allocating radio resources only to the RRC instances that are actively being used, the network can ensure that resources are not wasted on idle connections. This helps to improve the overall efficiency and performance of the network.
