With the rapid development of the national economy, China's construction industry has shown an unprecedented scale, with bridges, tunnels, skyscrapers, highways, and other infrastructure projects spread across the country. Behind this flourishing construction industry, the presence of horizontal steel bar cutters is indispensable, as they provide a steady supply of high-quality steel bars for construction sites and building teams, laying a solid foundation for China's infrastructure development. This study focuses on the transmission system of horizontal steel bar cutters. Firstly, research was conducted on the industry background of horizontal steel bar cutters to fully understand the working principles and structure of the transmission system. Based on the maximum power, the specifications and models of horizontal steel bar cutters were designed. The selection and calculation of the power source were carried out, determining the total transmission ratio of the entire system based on the rated speed of the electric motor and the working speed ratio of the mixer spindle. Then, the calculation process of the stepped variable speed of the main shaft box was used to obtain the speed and power from the drive shaft to the mixing main spindle in order. By utilizing the specific numerical values of the transmission ratios of each stage, the speed reduction of each transmission device could be calculated, and various parameters could be obtained through formulas.
