Based on the ARM processor, the Mplayer media player has been successfully ported to an embedded system in this project. With the rapid development of media player technology, from simple MP3 players to multi-functional MP4 and MP5 players, the demand for embedded systems with high performance and flexibility has increased. Embedded systems are defined as specialized computer systems that are application-centered, with software and hardware that can be tailored to meet strict requirements for functionality, reliability, cost, size, and power consumption. These systems typically use a high-performance processor, such as a 32-bit processor, and a multitasking operating system, making them ideal for tasks related to MPlayer porting. The main focus of this graduation project is on Linux embedded development, using both an X86PC machine and an ARM2410s embedded platform to develop MPlayer for playing multiple formats of media. The project begins by implementing MPlayer in a Linux environment on an X86PC machine, followed by creating a GUI for MPlayer using QT. The project then involves the porting and debugging of MPlayer to the ARM2410s embedded platform. Additionally, through research on various video file formats, MPlayer is enabled to play multiple video formats. The project successfully fulfills the requirements outlined in the task description. In conclusion, this project demonstrates the successful porting of the Mplayer media player to an embedded system based on the ARM processor. By leveraging the capabilities of Linux embedded development and utilizing both the X86PC and ARM2410s platforms, the project achieves the goal of developing a versatile media player that can play multiple video formats. Through this project, valuable experience and knowledge are gained in the field of embedded systems development and media player technology.
