Abstract
From the point of long term and micro-perspective, the differentiation of different people in society
comes out of personal management capacity. It is of great significance to apply the management
principles into the personal career. The frontier science Personal Management could include Personal
Management Technique, Management Of Personal Moral&cultural Value, Personal Strategy
Management, Management Of Personal Social Relations, Personal Time Management, Personal
Management On Learning, Personal Health Management, Personal Finance Management, Personal
Crisis Management, Information System Of Personal Management etc. Establishing the Personal
Management as a sharing course in university or college will be valuable in practice. The study on
Personal Management will also expand the realm of social science as well as management science.

1. The Origin of Personal Management
Where does the differentiation of people come? As political reformer obstructed by enormous
obstacles, why could Shang Yang of Qing-dynasty succeed out from complex environment, while
Wang An-shi of Song-dynasty failed? Why could Bill Gates, as well as Lee Jia-cheng, from a
common clerk without a coin, establish civilization of enterprise as rich as a nation, while some
billionaires turn their wealth into nothing? All are in university, why do some pupils with poor
economical condition perform well, accomplishing their major by doing amateur job, while some
pupils born with silver spoon do bad, cheating in exam? People from different profession, philosopher,
politician, thinker, historian, psychologist, as well as educationist, will explain the phenomena above
with various perspectives. From point of management, in spite of variation of circumstances of
different people, they fulfill their goal or strategy by adapting themselves to the changing environment
or altering the outer condition, after improving their personal management. So, in the sights of long
term or micro-perspective, the difference of different people is the end of their different capacity of
personal management. Traditional management mainly engaged in organization, what is the basis for
applying the methods and principles of management to personal development? The conception of
management could be revised, ‘managing for goal’, management exists because of targets. Everybody
has goals, great goals, goals of trifle; goals in long term, goals in short term. Since there are goals, plan
and management should be positively operated for personal living or development. Personal
management could be defined as some processes of activity planned, organized, controlled and
coordinated for the living and development of the individual, to fulfill personal goal or strategy and
improve personal utilities under particular circumstances.
2. The essential problem to be tackled and the characteristic of
personal management
In theories of modern management, such as theory for dynamic management and theory for
informational management, target exists in certain environment (figure 1), the target and the
environment react with each other

. Management attains the goal by adapting oneself to the
environment or changing it, so the essential problem of modern management is studying the goal, the
relation between the goal and the environment, so as to optimize the efficiency and fulfill the strategy.
So does personal management, first important of all, target, as well as the interaction between the target
and the environment, should be studied, which is realized in dynamic circumstances. In current society,
